Bio Builder

Fill in a few facts about yourself or your brand and see them laid out in 8 plain bio templates, each counted against your limit.

A role or a short phrase, such as Sourdough baker or Bike repairs and tune-ups.

As you’d say it after “for”.

Something specific and true.

Use the limit the site’s bio box shows: each site sets its own.

These are templates filled with your own words. Nothing is written for you, and a line whose field is empty is left out.

Fill in a field or two to see your bios.

What you type stays on this page, on your device: nothing is sent or saved.

A short bio in your own words

A profile bio has a line or two to say who you are, what you do and where to find more. This page doesn’t write it for you. You fill in the facts, and it lays them out in 8 templates, so you can see which reads best and fits the space.

    How to use it

    1. Fill in the fields you want. Any of them can stay empty.
    2. Set the character limit of the bio box you’re filling in, or press one of the presets.
    3. Read the bios as they appear. Each shows its count against your limit, and says when it runs over.
    4. Copy the one you like, paste it into your profile and edit it there if you want.

    How the templates work

    • Each template is a few short lines, such as what you do and who it’s for, then your detail, then your call to action.
    • A line whose field is empty is left out, so nothing appears that you didn’t type. The only words added are a template’s own, such as “for” and “Based in”.
    • A template that comes out the same as an earlier one is shown once.
    • The one-line templates suit sites that show a bio on a single line.

    Writing the fields

    • What you do: a role or a short phrase, such as Sourdough baker or Bike repairs and tune-ups.
    • Who it’s for: written as you’d say it after “for”, such as home bakers.
    • A detail: something specific and true, such as how long you’ve been doing it, rather than a word like “passionate”.
    • A call to action: one short line that says what to do next, such as Book a class below or Order through the link.

    Good to know

    • Counts: characters are counted as you see them, so an emoji is one and so is a line break. Some sites count an emoji or a character from some scripts as two, or a link as a set length, so leave a few spare.
    • Private: what you type stays on your device. Nothing is sent or saved.
    • Writing a LinkedIn headline? The LinkedIn Headline Generator builds that one line from your role, skills and results; this page builds a short bio for any profile.

    Frequently asked questions

Does it write my bio for me?
No. Every bio is one of this page’s templates filled with the words you typed. A line whose field you left empty is left out, so the bios never say anything you didn’t write.
    Which limit should I use?
The one the site’s bio box shows. Limits differ from site to site and can change, so the presets are only quick picks: type any number from 10 to 5,000.
Why does a site count my bio differently?
This tool counts characters as you see them, so an emoji is one. Some sites count an emoji or a character from some scripts as two, or every link as a set length, so leave a few characters spare.
    Is what I type saved?
No. The bios are put together by this page, on your device. Nothing is sent, saved or put in the page address.
