Expenses
Frequently asked questions
How do expenses in other currencies work?
The planner has no built-in exchange rates, because rates move every day and the one that matters is the rate you actually paid. The first time you add an expense in a currency other than your home currency, it asks for that rate once for the trip. Until you enter it, those expenses are listed but left out of the totals.
What do the per-day and per-person figures mean?
Trip days count both the start and the end date. Daily budget is your budget divided by those days, and average spent per day is what you have spent so far divided by the same days. Budget per person and spent per person divide the totals evenly by the number of travelers.
Can I export my expenses?
Export CSV downloads every expense with its date, category, description, amount, currency, the rate used and the amount in your home currency, ready for a spreadsheet. Print summary gives a clean page with the totals, the category breakdown and the expense list.
Where are my trips kept?
Only in this browser, on this device. They aren't sent anywhere, so clearing your browser data or switching devices means starting again. Export a CSV if you want a copy.
