Lesson Plan Generator

You write the lesson; this tool structures it, times the steps and formats a printable plan. The presets and samples give you a starting point.

A sample replaces the whole form. Rewrite it for your own class.

Frequently asked questions

What are the Standard, 5E and Workshop presets?
They are three common ways to order the steps of a lesson. Standard runs opening, instruction, guided practice, independent practice and closing; 5E runs Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate; Workshop is a short mini-lesson, a long work time and a share at the end. Each one fills in step names and minutes for you to rewrite.
How does the timing work?
Each step has its own minutes, and the time budget compares their total with the lesson length: amber shows minutes still unplanned, green means the steps fit exactly and red means they run over. When you apply a preset, the lesson length is split across its steps in proportion and rounded so the minutes add up exactly.
How do I print the plan or save it as a file?
Print prints the preview only, without the form, and your browser's print dialog can usually save it as a PDF. Copy as text and Download .txt give you the same plan as plain text to paste into a document or an email.
Where is my plan kept?
Only in this browser, on this device. It saves as you type and is there when you come back, but it does not sync anywhere, so copy it or download the .txt file to keep it somewhere else. Clear saved data removes it.
