Open Graph Preview
Type your page’s title, description and address, or paste its meta tags, and choose your picture to see two generic link-preview cards, with notes on anything missing.
Read with your browser’s own HTML reader into a separate document: no script in it runs, and no image or address in it is loaded.
The picture stays on your device: it’s shown here, never uploaded.
1.91 is the 1200 × 630 shape; type another, such as 2 or 16:9, to match the app you care about.
Everything happens on this page, on your device: nothing is sent or saved, and no address or image named in your tags is visited or loaded.
Check a shared link before anyone sees it
When someone shares a link in a chat, a post or an email, many apps show a card with a picture, a title, a line of description and the site’s domain. They build it from the page’s Open Graph tags, and a missing picture or a title that’s cut halfway makes the link easy to skip. This page draws two generic cards from your details, so you can fix problems before you publish.
How to use it
- Choose Typed details, or Pasted meta tags to check tags you already have.
- Type the title, description and page address, or paste the tags, or the page’s whole HTML.
- Choose your picture from your device. It appears in both cards.
- Read the notes under the cards: anything missing, how the picture is cropped and whether the text is cut off.
What the cards show
- Large image: a wide picture over the text, cropped to the shape in the shape box.
- Small image: a square picture beside the text, cropped from the middle.
- Text: the domain, then the title and description, each cut off after two lines.
- Your picture: shown from your device and cropped from the middle to each card’s shape. The note under the cards gives its size and says which edges are cut.
- Pasted tags: og: tags first, then twitter: tags, then the page’s own title, description and canonical link. When a tag appears twice, the first is used, as the Open Graph protocol says.
Good to know
- Generic on purpose. Real apps differ and change, so treat the cards as a check, not a promise.
- Keep the subject central. Both cards crop from the middle, and apps differ in how much they cut, so words near the edges of a picture are the first to go.
- Nothing is fetched. The image address in your tags is shown as text, never loaded; choose the same file to see it.
- Pasted code never runs. Only the title, meta tags and canonical link are read from it, as text.
- The cut-off notes depend on your screen width, as they would in an app.
- Need the tags? The Meta Tag Generator writes them; this page previews them. To get your picture to 1200 × 630, use the Image Resizer or Crop Image.
