Signature Generator
Type your name, pick a handwriting style and ink, and download your signature as a picture for documents, forms and emails. What you type stays in your browser.
A neat signature, without a pen and scanner
Plenty of everyday paperwork asks for a signature: a lease renewal, a permission slip, a membership form, the sign-off at the bottom of a letter. Signing on paper, scanning it and cleaning up the scan takes time. This tool draws your name in a handwriting style and saves it as a picture you can add to documents, forms and emails.
How to use it
- Type your name the way you sign it: full name, initial and surname, or first name only.
- Pick one of four styles and an ink color, and choose the size.
- Download a PNG with a clear background, or a JPG on white.
The four styles
- Bold signature: a heavy, flowing hand that stays readable when small.
- Classic signature: a looping, old-fashioned script with long strokes.
- Fine pen: thin, even lines, like a fine-tip pen.
- Neat handwriting: a clear joined script, the easiest to read.
A natural-looking result
- Type it as you sign it. If you sign with an initial and your surname, type exactly that; a signature rarely spells out every name.
- Pick the style at the size you’ll use. Signature lines on forms are small, and the bolder styles stay readable when shrunk; the fine pen suits a large space at the end of a letter.
- Dark blue looks like ink on a printed page. Black is safer for anything that will be photocopied or faxed.
- Keep the same one. Using one style for all your documents keeps them consistent.
Using the picture
The download is twice the size shown, so it stays sharp when printed. In a word processor, insert it as a picture and resize it to fit the signature line. The clear PNG sits on any background; use the JPG for programs that turn clear areas black. To place it directly onto a PDF, use Sign PDF, which can also draw a signature with your mouse or finger.
Good to know
- It’s a picture of your name, not a verified electronic signature. Whether it’s accepted is up to whoever receives the document.
- Keep the file to yourself. Anyone who has the picture can paste it anywhere, so store it like any other personal document.
- Latin letters only: accents work; other alphabets are drawn in a standard font.
- The fonts are open-licensed handwriting typefaces, downloaded from this site the first time you type.
