How to extract pages from a PDF
- Choose one PDF of up to 100 MB. Thumbnails of its first pages appear, numbered, to help you pick.
- Type the pages you want, such as
1-3, 7. - Press Extract pages, then download the new PDF.
When you only need part of a document
Often only a few pages of a long PDF matter: the signed page of a contract, one chapter of a manual, the invoice from a bundle of paperwork, or the pages an application asks for. Sending the whole file means a bigger attachment, and sharing pages that weren't asked for. Extracting gives you a small PDF with exactly the pages you choose.
Typing pages
- Single pages and ranges, separated by commas:
2,1-3, 7,10-(page 10 to the end). - Order: pages come out in the order typed, so
7, 1-3puts page 7 first. - Numbers are positions in the file, with the first page as 1, whatever is printed on the pages. A number beyond the last page gets a clear message instead of a guess.
What the new PDF keeps
Each page is copied as it is: text stays sharp and searchable, pictures keep their quality, and web links on the page still work. The new file is named after the original with "-extract" added. Things that belong to the whole document, such as its bookmarks list, don't carry over to the shorter copy.
Choosing between page tools
If you'd rather click than type, Organize PDF Pages shows every page and lets you delete and reorder them. To break a PDF into several files at once, use Split PDF, and to join extracted pages from different files, Merge PDF.
