Images under 100 KB, with the detail kept
100 KB is roomy compared with the tightest limits, and it covers a lot of everyday needs: a photo for an online application, a picture for a listing, an image that has to load quickly or slip under an email or chat limit. This tool brings each image to 100 KB or less and keeps as much detail as that size allows.
How to use it
- Choose up to 30 images, each up to 50 MB: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF or BMP.
- Leave "Save as" on JPG unless you need the original format.
- Press Compress to 100 KB, then download the results, one by one or as a ZIP.
Quality first, then size
Each image is first saved at the highest JPG quality that fits 100 KB, found by trying qualities in turn. The width and height stay the same at this stage. Only when even a low quality is too big does the tool shrink the picture, 15% at a time, keeping its shape. That order matters: a slightly lower quality is usually invisible, while fewer pixels show as soon as you zoom in.
Screenshots and graphics
Screenshots and images with text are usually PNG. Saved as JPG at 100 KB, text stays readable in most cases, but sharp edges can pick up faint smudges. If the text looks fuzzy, crop the screenshot to the part you need before compressing: a smaller area keeps more quality in the same 100 KB. Transparent areas become white in a JPG.
Batches and names
Each image keeps its name with "-compressed" added, so beach.jpg becomes
beach-compressed.jpg. One file that can't be read gets its own message and doesn't stop the others.
Photos also come out upright, without their hidden camera details and GPS location. If saving an image again
would only make it bigger, you get the original back exactly as it was.
Other sizes
Stricter limit? Try 50 KB or 20 KB. More room? 200 KB keeps photos larger. For any other number, use the Image Compressor.
